AUGUST 20th

We were created on purpose, for a purpose. Both specifically and in general. God made you on purpose. Regardless of what your parents may or may not think or say, the fact of the matter is that you were created by God on purpose. You were not a random joining of cells in your mother’s womb. You were designed specifically by God for the purposes that He intends to fulfill in you.

Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

God knew every choice you would make before you were ever born. He knew you would choose Him someday so He wove your life and His plan and purpose for you together taking in to account every mistake and choice that you would make. He created you ON purpose, WITH a purpose. That purpose is multi-faceted.

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

2 Corinthians 5:15-20 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

He didn’t create us to just live our own life for ourselves. He created you to be with Him in Heaven someday. He created you to know Him and love Him. He created you to be His ambassador. He created you to fellowship with Him. He created you to carry His light and shine. He created you to love others and bring His healing to others. He created you to give Him glory. The list goes on and there are many verses that explain our purposes but on top of those general purposes, He also has a specific purpose for your life. To discover that purpose, we must surrender ourselves and be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Then we will know what God’s will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will. We will know our purpose.

Lord, thank you for creating me on purpose. Thank you for creating me with your purpose in mind. Help me to surrender my own ideas about myself and my purpose to you. Help me to understand your purpose for me. Help me to shut out the voices of this world that speak their lies into my head grab hold of your Truth about me instead. Thank you for making me who you made me to be and help me to submit to transformation so that I can be all that you created me to be.
