Reflecting on Our Calling

Dec 27, 2025

Pastor Bill kicks off our new series “Dear Freedom House”. As we step into this journey together, I want to take a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, who we are, and where God is leading us.

Think back to the beginning of Freedom House Church. We started with a simple hope—to build a place where people could encounter the love and grace of Jesus. Over the years, we’ve faced challenges and celebrated victories. Through it all, God has been faithful. Every story, every changed life, every act of kindness has added up to something far greater than any one moment.

As we move forward, I see a church that’s not just growing in numbers but growing in depth. A church that’s committed to loving our community, serving our neighbors, and making a lasting impact right here in Dublin. We’re called to be a beacon of hope—a place where people find purpose and belonging.

Jesus gives us purpose!

It’s easy to wonder why we’re here, both as a church and as individuals. The answer, friends, is Jesus. He gives us our purpose. He showed us what it means to live with meaning, to love without limits, and to serve others selflessly. When we root our lives in Him, we discover that our purpose is bigger than ourselves—it’s about making a difference for Him and for others.

Understanding our purpose as a church and as an individual. As a church, our purpose isn’t just to fill seats or build big buildings. It’s to help each other grow into mature disciples—followers of Jesus who make more disciples. Each of us plays a part. Your gifts, your story, your presence—they all matter. You’re not here by accident. God has a unique role for you in this community.

Our calling is to reach beyond these walls. Every time you serve, pray for someone, or show kindness, you’re building God’s kingdom. Small actions—a smile, a helping hand, a word of encouragement—accumulate over time and transform lives. Let’s be known as a church that loves our city well, one faithful step at a time.

Faithfulness isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about showing up, day after day, trusting God even when it’s tough. Our consistency matters. When we keep walking with God—reading His Word, praying, serving, loving—we build something strong and lasting. The little things we do, done faithfully, become the foundation for greater things.

Don’t underestimate the power of small, steady steps. Every prayer, every act of service, every time you choose faith over fear—you’re growing. You’re making a difference. God sees your faithfulness, and He uses it in ways we may never fully understand.

Let’s commit to walking consistently with God—together. Let’s encourage one another, support each other, and keep our eyes on Jesus. I believe that as we do, God will show us greater things than we’ve ever seen before. Our best days are ahead, and I’m grateful to be on this journey with each of you.

With love and purpose,

Pastor Bill
