If we wait until we feel ready, we will never get it done. We can’t wait around to be perfect and we can’t wait around to feel ready. We weren’t created to wait around. We weren’t meant to be believers, we are meant to be followers, fruitful, with our light shining.
When something created isn’t being used for its purpose or isn’t useful then its purpose is wasted. Knick knacks on a shelf may be cute to look at briefly but unless they are being used for what they were created, they don’t hold much value. But God made you with value, to be used for His purpose and plan!
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
We are meant to bear fruit!
John 15:5 & 8 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
Jesus did instruct the disciples to wait, temporarily, before going to accomplish the mission that He gave them (and us.) That waiting period was brief and was in order to receive the baptism/outpouring of the Holy Spirit so that they would be empowered to complete the commission He gave us (Pentecost.)
Acts 1:4b-5,8 “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with a water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Verse 8-“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
But what did they do while they “waited?”
Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
So you see, waiting is not even JUST waiting!
Jesus thank you for creating me with a purpose, to be used by You. Help me to be willing and ready to be used. Show me what things in my heart and life may be hindering my usefulness. Help me to examine myself and be willing to surrender anything so that I am useful to you. Thank you for your perfect love and perfect plan Jesus.
