Don’t try to have more faith, just get to know Him better! When you know the One who controls the outcome you can rest in His plan for you. When you get to know Him better, you will know yourself better.
When you know Him better you will see things from His perspective and that changes everything in you.
When you know Him, it is easier to trust Him for things that are bigger than you can do yourself!
When you know Him, you reflect Him to others around you.
When you know Him, you can trust His love for you.
Since His love is perfect, He wants the best for you.
How well do you know Him?
Not just know about Him, but know Him? I know about President Trump, but I don’t really know Him. If you just know about Jesus but don’t really know Him then it will be harder for you to trust Him with your life every day. He doesn’t want to just be an acquaintance, He wants to be intimately involved in your life, as your closest friend and confidant.
John 15:15 “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
You get to know someone you spend time with, and you get to know someone well that you spend time with everyday. God gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us everyday so that we can know Him. He will show Himself to us if we let Him.
John 16:13-15 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
We spend time with Him by praying, reading the Word of God and talking/listening to Him every day. Don’t have time? We can’t afford to not do the things we don’t have time to do! This is crucial for our future, especially in these times! We are all in the same boat, we all have trouble finding time for spending with God, but we must get it on our schedule somehow. We must make it a priority. Our faith and our life depends on knowing Him well, and so does the life and faith of others around us because we can’t be the light if we don’t really know the source of Light, Jesus!
Jesus, thank you for calling me your friend. Help me to make time to spend with you so that I know you better. Show me creative ways how I can put more time for you into my day. Give me the strength and discipline to get up earlier or turn off the screens in my life to spend time with you. Thank you for your patience with me and your perfect love for me.
