In the Presence of our Enemies

Psalm 23 reminds us that God prepares a table for us even in the presence of our enemies. This message teaches that believers are invited into an intimate relationship with Jesus in the middle of life’s battles, not apart from them. Rather than focusing on fear, chaos, or the enemy’s presence, we are called to keep our eyes on the King and trust that He is with us.

The table is set before our enemies for three reasons: first, so we know that God is enough; second, so others can see and hear that God is enough through our witness; and third, so our cup can overflow with God’s goodness, allowing us to love, bless, and disciple others.

As we remain focused on God, we reflect His glory and are transformed back toward His original design, “The Imago Dei.” The closing points to communion as a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus, proclaim His death until He comes, and respond by surrendering, repenting, trusting, loving God, loving our neighbor, and making disciples.
