NOVEMBER 5th

Where else do you see yourself fitting in to the promises and prophecies of old? We talked a few weeks ago about what the Lord sees as acceptable fasting/worship. Let’s look at some more in that chapter of Isaiah:

Isaiah 58:9-12 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.

Notice right in the middle of the passage…then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like noonday. When we are obedient to Him and we quit the fingerpointing and gossip, etc and focus on meeting the needs of others, He will shine His great light through us. Then He goes further to say that He will always guide us and strengthen and refresh us. The ruins in our lives will be rebuilt and that will affect generations. When others see us they will call us repairer of the breach.

Do you know what a breach is? It is a weak spot that the enemy has broken through to invade, to take control of the territory. Remember the enemy comes ONLY to steal, kill and destroy.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

What areas in your life has the enemy breached? In what area does he have a foothold or even a stronghold? If you think back to earlier in the week to the thing that you would not give up for Jesus or the thing that you would not do, go or give for Jesus you will find a clue. That is the breach. What are you struggling with? Who are you struggling with? If you don’t think that there is anything then you are in a dangerous spot. We NEED to know our weaknesses. To protect against the breach we have to know what where that weak point is. When we surrender and obey, He turns up the Light and strengthens us to the point that others will see hope and Truth. When we try to hid our struggle or won’t loosen our white-knuckle grip on certain areas in our life we can’t bear the light so it will be suppressed.

Remember the saying: If you cover up your sin, someday God will expose it. But if you expose your sin, God will cover it.

Show Him the breach and allow Him to repair it. Then you can shine His Light brightly to others.

Thank you Lord for being hope. Thank you for always welcoming me with open arms. Help me to recognize and surrender to you all of the areas that the enemy has breached in me and my life. Help me to allow you to repair those areas. Help me want to let go and not let the enemy win. Thank you for being willing to shine your light in me and through me and help me to be the vessel for that.
