We have a decision to make. A decision that impacts millions. We have to decide what we are going to do now. Let me share some statistics with you.
In about the last 20 years…
*Around 1 million young people have walked away from the Church
In this young generation…
*73% say they are the loneliest they have ever been
*42% have been diagnosed with a mental health struggle
*57% are taking meds for mental health
*30% identify as LGBT
*The suicide rate is the highest it has been since WWII and since 2007 it has risen 62%! (It just so happens that 2007 is when the Iphone was created!)
*71% are addicted to pornography
*40% are born out of wedlock
*34% raised in single parent homes
*>1/3 are religious “none”s
*Only 8% read the Bible daily
BUT… in the last 18 months…
*Bible sales are up 41.6%
*Religious App downloads are up 79.5%
*Christian song streams are up 50% since 2019
*And Church attendance among young people has increased for the first time in a generation.
Church family, we are on a knife’s edge with an opportunity to tip the scales in either direction with our prayer and actions. This can be the greatest apostasy or the greatest revival. Which one will you contribute towards? If we do nothing, it will be a tragedy but if we diligently pray and ask the Lord to show us what we can specifically do then we can see the recent trend continue and that would result in 22 million young people being in the church in the coming years!
What will you choose?
Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
If you haven’t already, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to pray for the harvest! Your prayer is powerful and effective!
Lord thank you that you are working in the hearts of the young people. Please continue to draw them to you. Holy Spirit show me how to pray and help me to be diligent at praying for revival and harvest. Show me what else you want me to do to help in this matter. Thank you that you made a plan with me in mind, show me how to walk in that plan and help me be brave enough to get out of my comfort zone.
