April 23rd

Are you still ready?

Revelation 22:12-13 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Have you gotten comfortable again and drifted a little off the readiness path? It is easy to do, that is why we have to be reminded frequently. It helps us reorder our priorities. Remember No one knows the day or hour.

Matthew 24:36-42 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

If you think you are ready then let me ask you another question. Who in your life isn’t ready? What have you done about them? First and foremost we should be praying for them, specifically. We may need to tell them, or, we may not be the ones to bring them the message, so we pray for the Lord to send the right person to each of them. Someone that they will listen to so that they can choose to follow Jesus!

Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

The fields are ripe, the world is dying for the answers of truth, we need to be praying for a harvest but also for workers to reap the harvest. So, we need revival in the churches and we need a harvest in the world. These should be a priority in our prayer life. This should be taking up some time in our lives. We should each set aside some time each day to pray for these very things. We can be as specific as we can when it involves people we know. As a church we should be praying as specifically as we can for people. At church start sharing the names of those in your life that need Jesus or need to return to Jesus so that we can be praying as a church. We need to be ready, but we also need to be praying for others to be ready.

Ephesians 6:18-20 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Jesus, thank you that you are coming back for me. Thank you for keeping me safe in you. Help me to be ready and help me to know how to pray and who to pray for everyday. Help me to be available to speak your truth boldly whenever I can. Help me to be diligent in prayer for your Church and for those who don’t know you yet but will come to you. Holy Spirit give me a sense of urgency that is needed. Thank you for your patience and your love.
