We will never run out of God to get to know. There will always be more of Him that we haven’t discovered or experienced yet. He is so big and beyond our imagination, so deep and yet so present with us. He is our refuge and our teacher. If we tried to learn one attribute of God each day, we would still not reach the end of Him in our lifetime. Thankfully we don’t ever have to reach the end of Him. Think about that for a minute. Not only is there more to know of God but also more to know in different circumstances. That is one of the good things about the trials we face. They give us the opportunity to see God at work and know Him in those particular circumstances.
One way to get to know God better is to study all the different names of God in the Bible. His names shed light on His character. For example, El Shaddai (The Almighty All Powerful Lord), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord my Healer), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord My Provider.) Or there are titles used for Jesus that can be a helpful study as well. Check these out with associated verses (if your translation doesn’t use the exact words it might be that it is taken from a different translation.) Can you recognize in your life when you have seen Him act in these roles for you?

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
If we ask Him and seek Him, He will show Himself to us. Want your life to be different? Start getting to know the One who loves you the most!
Jesus, thank you for your love that is beyond anything I can understand. Help me to know you more Jesus. Show me how to seek you and open my mind and heart to understand you and to love and obey you. Thank you that you want me to know you and you will do anything necessary to help me to know you more. Point me to the right places in your Word and lead me in this journey. Thank you for your amazing love Jesus!
