AUGUST 15th
What is your question for God today? Not a “why” question, those answers come later and maybe not until we get to Heaven. But what other question do you have for God today? Maybe it’s a “what” questions like “what is my purpose today?” or “what is on your heart today God?” Maybe it is a “how” question like “How am I going to get all this done today?” or “How do you want me to handle that, etc.?” Or a “who” question like “Who do you want me to reach today?”
When is the last time that you asked God a question and then listened for an answer for real? We are instructed over and over again to ask but most of the time we are just spewing prayers without getting in personal with the Lord and then listening to Him for an answer. He promises to answer.
Jeremiah 33:2-3 “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Don’t think that you know what God is thinking.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
So rather than assuming that you know what God is thinking about any particular matter, why not ask Him? -And then listen for His answer!
Sit down and be quiet, with your open Bible on your lap and ask Him what He thinks. Ask Him to show you what He thinks about today. Ask Him what is on His heart today. Ask Him how you fit in to His plan today instead of how He fits in to your plan.
Let’s ask Him today.
Lord thank you for your patience with me. What is on your heart today Lord? Help me to hear and understand your plan today and how I fit into that plan. Lead me today Lord. Help me to understand your heart today in Jesus name.
