FHC 10-3-2026 The Holy Spirit Today

Oct 3, 2026

In this sermon, Pastor Bill teaches us that the Holy Spirit is not limited to Pentecost or the early church; He remains God’s active presence among believers. The Church was created to depend on His power rather than human strength, methods, or activity. Explaining that the Holy Spirit:

Reveals and glorifies Jesus, making Christ’s truth and presence real to believers.

Convicts people of sin and draws them toward repentance, faith, and salvation.

Leads God’s children through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, conviction, and guidance consistent with Christ’s character.

Produces Christlike fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Distributes spiritual gifts so believers can humbly serve and build up the Church for the common good.

Helps believers pray, especially when suffering or confusion leaves them without adequate words.

Seals and secures believers, serving as God’s mark of ownership and the guarantee of their future inheritance.

Empowers Christians to witness, obey God, and fulfill their calling.

As Believers, we are called to respond by receiving the Spirit’s conviction, repenting quickly, depending on His power, walking by His guidance daily, examining whether Christlike character is growing in us, using our gifts humbly, and praying with confidence.

The conclusion is that the Church does not merely need better programs, larger crowds, or greater activity, it needs the living presence and power of the Holy Spirit. We as Believers are therefore urged not only to study or defend doctrine about Him, but to know Him, surrender to Him, and ask Him to fill, cleanse, lead, and empower us so that Jesus is revealed through our lives.

In closing, Pastor Bill reminds us that God Gives Us Everything We Need!
