Hebrews 10: 23-25 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Do you see the Day approaching? All we have to do is look around us in this world and know that “the Day” is coming, right? So we should encourage each other to live like there is no tomorrow! Of course, I don’t mean to live irresponsibly. I mean to live today knowing that it could be your last day to spread the Gospel here on earth. It could be your last day before Christ’s return, so be ready.

Ephesians 5:15-16 “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Colossians 4:5-6 “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

If we lived ready, our priorities and decisions would be totally affected. If our singular goal was to be ready for Christ’s return while actively fulfilling the Great Commission, then our schedule, our purchases, our relationships would be different. It would put our problems in perspective too.

Christmas celebrates the coming of the Messiah, but let’s also remember to anticipate the RETURN of the Messiah and let that orchestrate how we manage our lives every day.

I think we so often get tangled up in our busy lives that we forget to be excited about His return. When we see the condition of the world around us, let us remind ourselves to be excited about Jesus coming back! We know the end of the story folks, let’s live like it!

Let’s spur one another on toward love and encourage each other as we see “the Day” approaching!
