OCTOBER 7th

I heard something the other day that totally shocked me: Research shows that the number one use of AI in 2026 was for therapy and companionship!!!

That is sad! It just goes to show you that the world is aching for Jesus!!

Instead of a fake computerized program to fill those needs, we have the Holy Spirit to do exactly that but so much better. Jesus knew we would need a counselor, a companion, a guide and a leader. He sent the Holy Spirit to be all of those things for us.

John 14:16-17 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 15:26 But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.

John 16:13-14 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

The Lord gave us His Spirit to be there for us. He also gave us His Word and other believers. We don’t need AI to be there for us. We can show the people around us how to walk in health and in peace. Having said that, let this also be a warning for us. Are WE looking to other humans or AI to meet needs that we should be going to the Lord for FIRST?! When we lean on the Holy Spirit daily for our needs and companionship before we look to others, then we walk about with something to offer others, even when we have a human need ourselves. When we skip the relationship with the Holy Spirit, we walk around as needy as others.

It isn’t just about believing, it is about relationship. Have we developed/nurtured our relationship with the Holy Spirit to the point that He feels like our most intimate companion? This will be necessary in the days ahead. Each must have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. One can’t rely on a pastor, or spouse or parent or friend to lead and guide us in the future, they may not always be there. But the Holy Spirit is always there, and we must have that relationship established before hard times come. We must have a relationship to know His voice. We must look to the Word before we look to catchy phrases or what someone is saying online. We must also pray. We are in the lost world that Jesus came to save. We get to be the light, let’s get filled up with His light today and shine to those around us. Let’s pray that lost hearts will be softened and bent toward Jesus. Pray that those the Holy Spirit has been drawing will cross our paths today.

Holy Spirit thank you for being my helper and companion. Forgive me for ignoring you as much as I do. Help me to be aware of your presence at all times. Help me to make my relationship with you a priority. Help me to be light to those in my life that you are drawing to Jesus. Help me to know your voice and follow.
