The Book of Revelation Devotions Day 31

DAY 31

Why is our part of the plan important? Because it is a matter of life and death for others. Not just temporary life, eternal life. It is time we realize that our participation in the plan is intended for our good and the salvation of others. It is not only a task, a commission, a mission, it is a blessing and an opportunity for our own growth as well. As we shine the light of Jesus to the world around us, we not only play a part in the rescue plan of others but we are also blessed and our love and faith grows.

We are privileged to be a part of the rescue plan! Don’t get me wrong, Jesus is the one who does the rescuing, but it is by our shining the light that people know that rescue is possible.

Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

If we do not shine the light or spread the Gospel, how will those around us know how to be rescued? Oh God will make sure that every single person ever born has the opportunity to choose Him, so if we refuse to speak the Truth, He will use someone else. But…if we refuse, then we miss out on the blessings planned for us and the growth planned for us. Not to mention we won’t be found doing what He has told us to do when He shows up…

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

John 15:10-11 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Those words speak for themselves, now let’s make sure we are busy speaking the Words of Life to others.

Jesus, I want to obey you by carrying out the mission that you gave us to be the light to the world. Help me to remember that this should be a priority in my life. Help me first to make spending time with you, the source of that light, the top priority in my life so that I can be the light to others. Help me to love as you love. Help me to be an example of your love to everyone in my life. Thank you for those that you placed in my life to love me and help me not to take them for granted. Help me to see others through your eyes. Thank you Holy Spirit that I am not alone and help me to remember that you are here to guide me through every step of the way.
