The Book of Revelation Devotions Day 34

DAY 34

There is judgement ahead. Revelation may be scary to read but rather than the focus being on the judgement, the focus should be on the Lamb. If we focus on the Lamb, it changes our perspective of the judgement. The slain Lamb broke the seals. The death of the Lamb paid the price and that is what made Him worthy to break the seals.

Jesus, the Lamb, set in motion the seals and He also suffered the consequences of those seals during His time here and He had the full wrath of God fall on Him on the cross.

So for those of us who are Christ followers, the seals/trumpets have already had their most severe consequence fulfilled in Jesus.

There is no reason to be afraid of the wrath of God if you are a Christ follower, because that wrath has already been met by Jesus.

We are offered grace, mercy and salvation by the Lamb of God who was sacrificed for our sakes. He took the wrath and judgement and gives us salvation.

Hebrews 9:27-28 “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

Notice the comma after the word “judgement,” it doesn’t end with judgement -for Christ followers it ends with grace, with mercy, with salvation.

You will die once and then you face God and His judgement, but if you are in Christ then you will present His sacrifice as payment for you, and you will be rewarded with salvation.

Worthy is the Lamb of all glory and honor and praise! He gave His life for us, He paid the price for us, He rewards us with salvation! He alone is worthy of all of our worship and praise!

Because of the Lamb we are able to read Revelation with hope instead of fear. We are able to hold on to His promises and rest in His peace because we are covered by the blood of the LAMB! Hallelujah!

Jesus, Lamb of God, You are worthy of all my praise! Thank you for your sacrifice, your love, and your promises! Help me not to take your sacrifice for granted and help me to remember it often and share it with others. Help me to give you grateful praise and worship for this every single day! Help me to live a life of praise to you.
